Can I connect a Roland 2480 directly to my Mac computer?

Is there a way to connect my Roland VS 2480 to my Power Mac 8600 to allow direct "download" or transfer of stereo music (WAV) files?

Currently I have to make a CD containing the mastered stereo files from the Roland and rip the files from the CD into the computer. It would save time and CDs if the files could be sent directly from one device to another. The computer saves using Roland memory to produce playlists for CD burning.

Additionally, what is a good CD burning program (or alternate) that accomplishes creating the same volume level on all the songs of a playlist to be burned to CD?

Could go two ways...

I'm not sure myself if the Roland 2480 offers that capability - the best way to tell is to look at the connections available on the machine and see if a USB or FireWire port is installed.

If there is, then it should be a matter of plugging it into your computer, and installing drivers. If not, then we have tougher situation.

In that case, you will either have to keep burning CDs, or use an external hard drive to transfer files. There are some instructions as to that here: http://www.rolandvs2480.net/Exporting-wav-files-via-hard-drive.htm.

Hope this helps - Lee
